About the Job

The overall purpose of this job is to develop proactive Quality and Food Safety culture mindset through increased competences, communication and best business practice sharing. S/he drives the development, implementation and follow-up of processes, methods and systems to analyze and improve our Quality performance indicators and mitigate the shortfalls in the packhouse.

Reporting:

Reporting to the Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager or designee the job holder will handle below but not limited to:

1.      Translate customer requirements (technical specifications) into raw material specification and product to ensure only quality raw material is always received and packed for the customers. To ensure all the step of the product flow are monitored effectively.

2.      Ensures the effective implementation of the food safety plan (HACCP) and ensure all the prerequisite programmes are appropriately monitored to ensure that they are in control, for the production of safe, quality and legal products.

3.      Ensure appropriate traceability of produce from receiving through processing to the dispatch of finished product and use this information for effective management of the corrective action procedure.

4.      Follow up effectively and promptly address customer complaints, as per the customer complaints procedure; to ensure no recurrence of complaints.

5.      Always ensure the effective implementation of the BRC Global standard for Food Safety and the achievement of grade A.

6.      Communicate quality control information to all the relevant departments and produce report regarding quality at intake, non-conforming product, daily production quality, root cause analysis and quality trends.

7.      In charge of the records and documents checking, collation and control of the food safety, quality, and legality related documents.

8.      Any other duties related to the roles as may be prescribed by senior management.

 

 

 

Education, Knowledge & Experience

·  At least 3 years’ experience in the Horticultural sector, with experience in standards such as BRC and Food Safety Systems including HACCP. Knowledge of packing fruits such as avocados is an added advantage.

·  Diploma in Food Sciences, Agribusiness, Agriculture or a related subject.

·  Ability to demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
